In this Province, any person may request in writing that the Integrity Commissioner investigate an alleged conflict of interest by a member of the Legislative Assembly.  Along with a covering letter, the request must be in the form of an affidavit, which must set out the grounds for the person’s belief and the nature of the alleged conflict of interest.

As a general rule, the person who makes the allegation of a conflict of interest against a member must swear or affirm that he or she has personal knowledge of the facts or, if the facts are not within the person’s personal knowledge, he or she must reveal the source of his or her information and that he or she believes the facts as related by that source to be true.
